FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
We invite parents of children (7 yrs. old or second grade) to have their child registered to prepare for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
It is a gift and privilege to invite our children of the Parish to receive these great sacraments. Sacraments that will strengthen them for the rest of their lives. The Church declares that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. What an extraordinary opportunity for the faithful to receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This is the True Food and True Drink that gives us life to the full.
But at times in our life we are like the prodigal son and in need of forgiveness and healing. The Church offers us through the priesthood, forgiveness of sins and healing through confession.
Here are some basic requirements of the sacramental preparation for these two important and necessary sacraments:
- Attendance to all scheduled dates for sacramental preparation is required.
- Children are required to attend religious education classes either on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. Please visit our RE page for additional information.
- A copy of the child's Baptismal Certificate must be provided.
Contact Maggie Torres for additional information.
You must be a parishioner of Risen Christ parish to participate in Sacramental Preparation. Please see the Sacraments page for more information.
